The MuraPirahaLanguage is a MuraLanguage of Brazil. SIL code: MYP. ISO 639-2: sai. Population: 150 (1986 SIL) out of an ethnic group of 1,500 (1995 SIL). The Piraha are small, the Mura larger. Region: Amazonas, along the Maici and Autaces rivers. Alternate names: PIRAHA. Comments: Probably related to Matanawi, which is extinct. The Mura are mostly integrated into Portuguese. The Piraha are quite monolingual. Semi nomadic. Grammar. SOV. Tropical forest. Riverine. Hunter-gatherers. 40 to 120 feet. Bible portions 1987.(extract from http://www.ethnologue.com/)
