ComputerFile
A collection of bytes stored as an individual entity. All data on disk is stored as a file with an assigned file name that is unique within the folder (directory) it resides in.

Parents DigitalData This term refers to any data that is recorded, displayed, or stored as a string of BinaryNumbers.
Children AudioFile
 ComputerDirectoryThis is the class of catalogs that identify and locate instances of ComputerFiles. The catalog's entries consist of at least ComputerFile names and a physical address on a memory device of the ComputerFile or an index (e.g., file descriptor) into a table of ComputerFile physical addresses. ComputerDirectories are thus collections of data elements and must be named and stored on memory devices, hence, ComputerDirectory is a subset of ComputerFile.
 ImageFileA picture (graphic) stored in a particular coding scheme and stored as a file. Note that this can include vector as well as raster images. Raster images will entail a particular number of horizontal and vertical pixels. Vector images will not entail a particular size or resolution.
 MultimediaFileAn instance of MultimediaFile is a ComputerFile that can contain (encode) multimedia content: images, text, and/or sound.
 SoftwareFileAn instance of SoftwareFile is a ComputerFile that contains information (containsInformation) which constitutes (instantiates) a ComputerProgram.
 XMLFileAn instance of XMLFile is a ComputerFile that contains data marked up (formatted) in the eXtensible Markup Language format.
