The AzoyucTlapanecoLanguage is a SubtiabaTlapanecLanguage of Mexico. SIL code: TPC. ISO 639-2: nai. Population: 682 speakers. 17,000 in the Municipio including Spanish-speaking mestizos (1990 census). No monolinguals. However, there are reports of 1,000 to 10,000 speakers. Region: East and a little south of Chilpancingo, Guerrero, Azoyu, Maxnadi, Toxnene, Zapotitlan del Puente, San Isidro del Puente, El Carrizo. Comments: 50% intelligible with Malinaltepec. Reported to be bilingual in Spanish. Investigation needed: intelligibility with other Tlapaneco, bilingual proficiency.(extract from http://www.ethnologue.com/)
