Annuity
A contract sold by an insurance company designed to provide payments to the holder at specified intervals, usually after retirement. FixedAnnuities guarantee a certain payment amount, while VariableAnnuities do not, but do have the potential for greater returns, but both are relatively safe, low-yielding investments.

Children FixedAnnuityAn investment vehicle offered by an insurance company, that guarantees a stream of fixed payments over the life of the annuity. The insurer, not the insured, takes the investment risk.
