The ModoleLanguage is a KaoRiverLanguage of Indonesia (Maluku). SIL code: MQO. ISO 639-2: paa. Population: 2,000 (1983 C. and B. D. Grimes SIL). Region: North Maluku, interior north Halmahera Island, headwaters of Kao River. Alternate names: MADOLE. Dialects: NORTH MODOLE, SOUTH MODOLE. Comments: Minimal differences between north and south Modole. Language attitudes are positive. Some intermarriage with the Tobaru. Investigation needed: intelligibility with Pagu dialects.
