KualaLumpurSignLanguage is a DeafSignLanguage of Malahysia (Peninsular). SIL code: KGI. ISO 639-2: sgn. Population: No estimate available. Region: Kuala Lumpur and elsewhere in Peninsular Malaysia. Alternate names: KLSL. Comments: American signs were introduced in the late 1960s to a class for deaf children. They were promoted by the club for deaf adults which was started at the YMCA in 1973. Many former users of Penang Sign Language now use KLSL. Uses predominantly American signs in a mixture of English and Malay word order.
