An instance of Epiphany is a ChristianHoliday that is celebrated on January 6th in both the Gregorian and Julian calendars. In Western Christianity, it commemorates the visit of the Magi to the infant Jesus. In Eastern Christianity, it commemorates Jesus's baptism in the Jordan River and manifestation as the Son of God. In this tradition, the holiday is also called Theophany.
