The MbuguLanguage is a PareCushiticMixedLanguage of Tanzania. SIL code: MHD. ISO 639-2: mis. Population: 32,000 (1987). Region: Eastern Province in Usambara. Alternate names: MA'A, MBOUGOU, VAMA'A, WA MAATHI, KIBWYO. Comments: People call themselves 'Va-Ma'a'. A hybrid language, Bantu inflectional (prefix and concord) system with Cushitic vocabulary. Derivational morphemes are Bantu and Cushitic (or non-Bantu). The Bantu influence is from Pare (Shambaa).(extract from http://www.ethnologue.com/)
