The TwelveApostles is the group of 12 core disciples of JesusOfNazareth who knew him during his lifetime, as described in the ChristianGospels and the Acts of the Apostles. According to the gospel accounts, Judas Iscariot betrays Jesus and then leaves the group, but later is replaced by Matthias, restoring the group's number to 12.
