BusNetwork | A network in which all nodes are connected to a single wire (the bus) that has two endpoints. Ethernet 10Base-2 and 10Base-5 networks, for example, are bus networks. Other common network types include StarNetworks and RingNetworks. | | RingNetwork | A local-area network (LAN) whose topology is a ring. That is, all of the nodes are connected in a closed loop. Messages travel around the ring, with each node reading those messages addressed to it. | | StarNetwork | A local-area network (LAN) that uses a star topology in which all nodes are connected to a central computer. |
