Region: Morona, Macusari, Tigre, Huasaga, and Corrientes rivers. Alternate names: ACHUAR, ACHUAL, ACHUARA, ACHUALE, JIVARO, MAINA. Comments: Different from Shuar (Jivaro) of Ecuador. Bilingual level estimates for Spanish are 0 90%, 1 6%, 2 3%, 3 1%, 4 0%, 5 0%. Dictionary. Grammar. SOV. Literacy rate in first language: 10% to 30%. Literacy rate in second language: 1%.
