AustrianSignLanguage is a DeafSignLanguage of Austria. SIL code: ASQ. ISO 639-2: sgn. Population: No estimate available. Alternate names: AUSTRO-HUNGARIAN SIGN LANGUAGE. Comments: Partially intelligible with French Sign Language. Related to Russian Sign Language. The sign language used in class and that used by adults outside class are different. Deaf people go to different schools, each using a different sign language. Sign language interpreters are used some in court. Professionals are required to know sign language in job training and social services programs. There is little research. There are a few classes for hearing people. Originated 1870.
