Only fishermen were tested, and they are familiar with the other varieties. Younger speakers use Spanish as second language. 2,000 to 3,000 in the new San Francisco town have shifted from Huave to Spanish. 30% to 40% monolingual in the old village. Nontonal. Desert. Coastal.
