The WichiLhamtesVejozLanguage is a MatacoLanguage of Argentina. SIL code: MAD. ISO 639-2: sai. Population: Population total both countries 25,000 (1991 UBS). Region: Northern area: Chaco, Formosa, Salta, Jujuy. Generally west of Toba, along upper Bermejo River Valley and Pilcomayo River. Also spoken in Bolivia. Alternate names: 'MATACO' VEJOZ, VEJOS. Dialects: BERMEJO VEJOZ. Comments: Not intelligible with other Chaco languages. Bilingual level estimates for Spanish are 0 0%, 1 80%, 2-3 19%, 4-5 1%. Language family also called 'Mataco-Mataguayo.'
