Region: Southern, central, and western desert regions, coastal Arnhem Land, some islands of north coast, western side of Cape York Peninsula, islands of Torres Strait. Comments: Not related to Australian Sign Language. Several different sign languages are also used by deaf persons. Also used by hearing Aborigines as an alternate form of communication with speakers of other languages.
