Region: South bank of the Orinoco River, inland from the Paguasa River to Manipiari, Amazonas. Large area. Alternate names: KUAKUA, GUAGUA, QUAQUA. Dialects: MACO (MAKO, ITOTO), PIAROA. Comments: Possibly 50% of the men are bilingual in Maquiritare, Yabarana, or Spanish. 'Ature' (Adole) may be an alternate name. NT 1986. Also spoken in: Colombia. (Language name: PIAROA.)
