The AguanoLanguage is a language of unknown classification from Peru. SIL code: AGA. ISO 639-2: sai. Population: In 1959 there were 40 families in Santa Cruz de Huallaga who did not use Aguano but were members of the ethnic group. Region: Lower Huallaga and upper Samiria rivers, the right bank tributary of the Maranon River. Alternate names: UGUANO, AGUANU, AWANO, SANTA CRUCINO. Comments: Ruhlen says this is the same as Chamicuro (1987, personal communication). Chamicuro speakers say they were not the same, but the Aguano spoke Quechua (M. R.
