Comments: Distinct enough from Standard Italian to be considered a separate language. Pugliese (see Italian) and Southern Calabrese are reported to be dialects of Sicilian. Bilingualism in Italian. Vigorous. Not endangered. French influence. It may be Southern Romance instead of Italo-Western.
