Less developed countries are countries or dependent areas with low levels of production, living standards, and technology. Per capita GDP (perCapitaGDPInPeriod), or GDI (Gross Domestic Income), is generally less than $5,000 and often below $1,500. Subgroups of LDC, however, include countries that have higher per capita incomes, as well as advanced technology, and rapid rates of growth.
