Comments: Dialect names listed are as much or more ethnic names. Dari Persian dialects with some Turkic and Mongolian elements, possibly quite distinct. 'Barbari' and 'Berberi' are also applied to Hazara people in and around Mashad, Iran. Investigation needed: intelligibility with related varieties. Literacy rate in second language: 5% to 15%.
