The YaguaLanguage is a PebaYaguanLanguage of Peru. SIL code: YAD. ISO 639-2: sai. Population: 5,000 to 6,000 in Peru (1998 SIL). Population total both countries 5,000 to 6,000 or more. Region: Northeastern Amazon River region, from Iquitos to the Brazil border. Some occasionally go into Brazil. Also spoken in Colombia. Alternate names: YAHUA, LLAGUA, YAVA, YEGUA. Comments: Two dialects. Bilingual level estimates for Spanish are 0 54%, 1 20%, 2 15%, 3 10%, 4 .95%, 5 .05%. Dictionary. VSO. Literacy rate in first language: Below 1%.
