The hierarchy of IMF levels includes: AdvancedEconomy, CountryInTransition, and DevelopingCountry. There is some, but not complete, overlap with concepts used by UnitedNations agencies. Most of the countries with this attribute are former USSR or Eastern European countries. Generally corresponds with FormerSovietOrEasternEuropeanCountry classification used by UnitedNations agencies.   developing country DevelopingCountry is a term used by the InternationalMonetaryFund (IMF) for the bottom group in its hierarchy of advanced countries, countries in transition, and developing countries.
