A Device that regulates, directs or controls the FlowFn of a Fluid (Gas, Liquid, fluidized solids, or slurries) by opening, closing, or partially obstructing various passageways. (Wikipedia)
Relationships
Parents engineering component A fundamental concept that applies in many engineering domains. An EngineeringComponent is an element of a Device that is a physically whole object, such as one might see listed as standard parts in a catalog. The main difference betweeen EngineeringComponents and arbitrary globs of matter is that EngineeringComponents are object-like in a modeling sense. Thus, an EngineeringComponent is not an arbtrary subregion, but a part of a system with a stable identity.
fluid power device An EngineeringComponent in function of which play role fluid-power energetical interactions.
Children bleeder valveA Valve designed for use in BleedingAir, typically from hydraulics such a brake lines.
directional control valveValve that controls the direction of flow of a fluid
exhaust valveA Valve that opens to let the Exhaust escape into the ExhaustManifold.
 intake valve
manifold heat control valveA device present on older vehicles with Carburetors that sends hot Exhaust gases to pre-heat the FuelVapor for more efficient Combustion.
positive crankcase ventilation valveA valve that is designed to send unburned fuel that escapes into the Crankcase back to the CombustionChamber.
pressure control valvevalve that controls the pressure in a fluid
saline lockA saline lock is a valve that is intended to be connected to an IVLine. It is pre-filled with a SalineSolution since that has a neutral effect (it is isotonic) on the Blood.
volume control valvevalve that controls the flow rate of a fluid
